NATO Countries Defense Ministers meeting ended its session

The informal meeting of Defense Ministers of the member countries of NATO that took place in Istanbul on 4-5 February 2010, ended its session. This meeting was attended by Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen as well as the Defense ministers of member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Defense of the USA, Robert Gates. The Minister of Defence participates in the NATO Ministerial

The Minister of Defense Mr. Arben Imami will attend the informal meeting of the Defense Ministers of the member countries of NATO, that will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, February 4-5.
During this Ministerial will be discussed many important issues, dealing with NATO commitments.
After the meeting, the Defense Minister will travel to Munich, Germany, where will be held the Conference on the Security, on Febryary 6th and February 7th , with the participation of personalities of European politics and beyond.
2nd Peacekeeping Contingent leaves for the mission in Afghanistan

In the premises of the Commando Regiment was held the ceremony of the departure of the 2nd Peacekeeping Contingent, which will conduct its next mission in Herat, Afghanistan.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense Ekrem Spahiu, Deputy chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Kristaq Gerveni, Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Tirana, Brigadier General Dincho Karamunchev, Joint Force Command Commander Brigadier General Agim Lala, the Italian Military Attaché accredited in Tirana Colonel Luigi Maracci, generals and other senior military of our Armed Forces, local government representatives, as well as family and relatives of the peacekeeping contingent members.
Summary of Engagement of the Armed Forces to cope with the situation created by the floods in Shkodra

The engagement of the Albanian Armed Forces, to cope with the situation created cause of the floods, has started since December 27, 2009, by providing all the equipments to help the civilian population to carry out the evacuation of residents if necessary.
In the first days of January, the Support Command has send in the emergency area of Dajc, 22 vehicles of which 20 vehicles are for people transportation, 1 unload relief, 1 ambulance, which were used for the evacuation of population and livestock.
Toward Shkodra there were also transported the first saving boats.
With the deterioration of the situation, from day to day, were increased the operational engagements. Their extended geography, reached all the Lezhë FC area, not leaving out of attention any flooded area.
