Today took place the ceremony to seeing off new professional soldiers/seamen candidates to Armed Forces to Basic Individual Training at the Troop School in Bunavi.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, senior military and family and friends of the recruits.

In her speech, Minister Kodheli congratulated the young people for their choice to serve the country and invited them to devote themselves to the highest standards and to follow the rules. "It is certainly a special day for you to start a journey that in my judgment will lead you towards a long way, if you honorably bear the uniform that you will wear after you pass the last test, that of Bunavi ".

Then Minister Kodheli expressed her conviction that the government will continue to support the Armed Forces in fulfilling their commitments. "I am fully convinced that the government will know, as it has done so far, how to support the AF starting with the budget increase, this being a contemporary requirement, the situations we experience, the dangers that arise from the south, from the east from the Far East, but also the demands of the need of an era where technology is moving fast and the danger of harming our country or our citizens may follow the same path."

At the end of her speech, Mrs. Kodheli thanked all those who have chosen to be part of the Armed Forces and did not fail to mention their families and relatives for all the support they have given to them.
For the third stage of the recruitment campaign 95 recruits have been selected to start Basic Individual Training at Bunavi Troop School, out of which there are 10 female.

Basic Individual Training lasts about 10 weeks, after which the recruits are appointed active professional soldiers/seamen to Armed Forces of Albania. Subsequently, newly appointed soldiers will immediately undergo Advanced Individual Training again in Bunavi, which also lasts for 10 weeks.
