Bad weather, MoD addressed a letter to problematic municipalities: disclose the names of companies in charge of roads maintenance!

Given the situation caused by the snowfall in the last couple of days, the Ministry of Defence, through the General Directorate of Civil Emergencies, has addressed an open letter to the municipalities in six prefectures of the country affected by severe weather conditions. It was sent to the municipalities of Shkodra, Kukësi, Puka, Dibra, Korça and Gjirokastra.

"As you are aware, the situations created recently due to snow and rain falls on a large part of the country's territory caused many problems, such as logjam on several national road axes, many rural road segments, the interruption of communication and human activity as well as the suspension of the teaching process and electricity supply", - is stated in the letter bearing the signature of the director of the General Directorate of Civil Emergencies.

Declaration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces

An unpleasant situation was recorded yesterday at the Pashaliman Marine Base, where an armament depot was damaged.
From the very first moment, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, through all its subordinate structures and in close cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, the State Police began to reveal the causes of the incident, within the Pashaliman Base.

The Military Police transferred the files for investigation to the Judicial Prosecution Office in Vlora against five suspects: "For violating the rules of service within important premises". Moreover, they are charged with the criminal offence of "Theft."

Ministry of Defense on the alert for snowfall and frost

The Ministry of Defense addressed a letter to 12 Prefects requiring them to take precautionary measures for expected emergency situation that may arise from precipitation and frost, from 3 January 2019 onwards.

The Ministry of Defense has asked all county Prefects, as well as the heads of municipalities and central institutions at regional and local level, to take urgent measures according to their areas of responsibility, to cope with any emergency situation, and provide the necessary conditions, so that the communities live a normal life.

Military Police reconstructs Selishta kindergarten, Xhaçka: Military have a tight budget,and a big hearts

The children of the administrative unit of Selishta, the municipality of Dibra will study in a more comfortable and warmer environment, equipped with appropriate items, books and toys. The Military Police reconstructed Selishta’s kindergarten with their own savings as a New Year gift for the children of this isolated area.

Minister Xhaçka closely monitored the work done to improve the kindergarten conditions and praised the work and generosity of Military Police officers as well.

Minister Xhaçka wishes the Albanian troops on international missions

About 300 Albanian soldiers will celebrate New Year's Eve while serving on international missions, where our Armed Forces are giving their contribution.

Today morning Minister Xhaçka had a video-conference with all Albanian Contingents, who will be on duty on New Year’s Eve.

Minister Xhaçka congratulated the Albanian military men for their service, while being far away from their families, and wished them a cheerful New Year.
