Engagement Policy and evidence of AAF participation in PK missions

The Armed Force is engaged in different missions at home and abroad due to the political commitments of the Republic of Albania in the framework of NATO, UNO, EU and coalitions against terrorism since 09.09.1996, staring from the first mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The number of AF troop participants of the Republic of Albania in PK missions has increased, as well as the geographical field where these missions are conducted.

The participation of AAF in PK and military missions derives from:

- Constitutional Mission of AAF of the Republic of Albania.
- Specific Legal Act determined for each contribution in PK and military missions.

Contributions in Military Operations of the Republic of Albania led by NATO, UNO, EU, from 1996-2012 are totally 6033 military men.

Ongoing Missions

The Armed Forces are currently engaged in PK and Military missions in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosova, and SEEBRIG.

Accomplished Missions

The Armed Force has completed its missions in Iraq, Chad and Georgia.
