Information regarding current roads situation after last night’s snowfall

Last night, the snowfall continued almost throughout the territory, accompanied by strong winds and very low temperatures.

Work continued uninterrupted during the night to clean and salt the roads.

More specifically, the situation is:

Northern region:

The main problem is the Milot – Lezha axis, which has had snow accompanied by very strong winds. The axis is passable except for a part at the intersection of Tales, where the crossing is realized with one lane.

The Armed Forces are assisting in the relocation of stranded vehicles. A fuel tanker of the AAF has arrived to supply the remaining vehicles blocked on the road without fuel. In the following axes the passage is done only with chains:

Bajram Curri - Valbonë
Sopot - Qafë Luzhe
Krumë - Kukës - U. Zapodit
Kukës - Bushtricë
Peshkopi - Ulëz
Qafe Mali - Fierzë.

Central region:

Mandatory passage only with chains:

Linzë - Shëngjergj,

Prrenjas - Qafë Plloçë.

Southern region:

Movement on the axes of this region is recommended using winter tires. The Armed Forces in cooperation with the State Police have increased the readiness throughout the country to come to the aid of the citizens.

A snowplow truck of the Drenova Regional Defense Detachment is engaged in cleaning the Korça - Kapshtica axis.

The Ministry of Defense calls on all citizens to avoid unnecessary movements with vehicles, especially on the axes with a high presence of frost.
