In his greeting speech, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi assessed that the successful completion of this course is a well-deserved encouragement and highly motivational for these young people, the youngest officers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania. Minister Peleshi emphasized that it is one of the aims of MoD to give a new vision to the military education system, turning this system into a laboratory for processing theoretical military thought, while the fields, shooting ranges, and training grounds, into experimental practices.

"All our military, especially officers must keep in mind that they are not the only military of the Republic of Albania, but also military of the great Euro-Atlantic Alliance where we must be represented in the most professional and dignified way, we must represent the role and the name of our country. This means that your career will be in constant demand for education, training, and a further qualification not only in our military schools but also in our allies’ and partner countries.", - said during his speech, Minister Peleshi.

He also shared with the participants the work plan for the next academic year.

"The challenges we face are bigger and more complicated, so we want AAF starting from the next academic year to train not only officers with military scientific education but also with other specialties, so we will open two programs this year: "Information Technology in the field of Defence" is one of the bachelor programs and "Navigation and Naval Command", is the other bachelor program. Besides these Bachelor Programs, which are opened for the first time at the Armed Forces Academy, we will also open the master program in Cyber Security.
", - added the minister.

The Defence Minister stated that this ambition will go further by turning this academy, according to the "West Point" model, which in the near or medium-term may produce officers that can have a diploma possibly equivalent as if they have studied at West Point, or at other more prestigious academies in the United States and NATO countries.
