Historic Arrival of Albania’s first UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters
Albania has received two Black Hawk helicopters, a significant investment for the Armed Forces. This action, deemed historic, is backed with the support of over $50 million in U.S. funding assistance.
Defence Minister Niko Peleshi praised it as a crucial step for the modernization of the Air Force.
Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized the close cooperation with the strategic partner, the USA, and praised that the invetiment will directly affect the growth and modernization of the Albanian Air Force.
While the US Embassy in Tirana states that this historic arrival of the first Black Hawk helicopters will help the Albanian Armed Forces in a series of operations: will enable the military to conduct Medical Evacuations (MedEvac), Search and Rescue (SAR), and also fight forest fires and provide support for NATO operations.
“The United States is proud of the strong defense partnership with Albania and welcomes the addition of the new Black Hawks to Albania’s Armed Forces!” - says the announcement of the US Embassy.

NATO releases first ever quantum strategy
Quantum technologies are already part of NATO’s innovation efforts. Six of the 44 companies selected to join NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA)’s programme are specialized in quantum. Their innovations are expected to help progress in the areas of next-generation cryptography, develop high-speed lasers to improve satellite connectivity, and deploy quantum-enhanced 3-D imaging sensors in challenging undersea environments. DIANA also anticipates quantum technologies forming a key part of solutions to its future challenge programme.
Building on its new strategy, NATO will now start work to establish a Transatlantic Quantum Community to engage with government, industry and academia from across the innovation ecosystems.

The Museum of Armed Forces has unveiled its new exhibits and surrounding
The Armed Forces Museum has officially relocated to its new site in Bërzhitë. It was marked by a impressive inauguration attended by the Defence Minister Niko Peleshi.
The state-of-the-art Facility features five Pavilions, showcasing a rich array of exhibits spanning from the ancient Illyrian period to the Contemporary Era.
Defence Minister Peleshi underscored the AAF Museum's significance, emphasizing its role not only as a premier tourist destination, but also as a dynamic center for various activities.
The pavilions meticulously chronicle pivotal historical epochs, encompassing Skanderbeg's Era, Eyalets, the League of Prizren, Independence Era, and the events of World War II.
On the second floor of the main building, the second and third pavilions exhibit around 700 objects from the era of the People's Army.
The 4-th pavilion, known as the NATO Pavilion, showcases weapons and state-of-the-art technology used by NATO member armies. Meanwhile, the 5-th pavilion, located in a separate building, houses objects related to the Navy and Aviation.

Defence Ministerial of the U.S.- Adriatic Charter Initiative
Defense Minister Niko Peleshi participated in the Defence Ministerial within the framework of the US - Adriatic Charter Initiative (A5), chaired by North Macedonia.
The discussions focused on current security and defense issues in the Balkan region and beyond.

US - Adriatic Charter Initiative (A5) is the cooperation of the member countries Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina along with the USA is the “The Adriatic Charter” Initiative. It is programmed based on the annual cooperation programs in the field of Defence.

The NATO Defence Ministers Meeting in Brussels
During the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting in Brussels, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi underscored the ongoing developments in Northern Kosovo.
Additionally, he conveyed Albania's steadfast dedication to carrying out decisions made at the Vilnius Summit.
At the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting, there was also a notable emphasis on unwavering support for Ukraine in its resistance against Russian aggression.
Regarding the conflict in the Middle East, allies expressed solidarity with Israel, condemning attacks, hostage-taking, and the killing of civilians due to Hamas assaults.
