Ministry of Defence and General Staff have undertaken the necessary measurements regarding the tragic incident of the crashing helicopter EC 145 in which lost their life two pilots of the Albanian Air Force.

Immediately after the incident, the Chief of General Staff, Major General Jeronim Bazo, has ordered the setting up of a task force, which will be available to the Prosecution in order to coordinate all the activity in the area of the accident, as well as provide with all the necessary documents and proof materials that will assist during the penal investigation process.

On the other side, itself the Minister of Defence, in total compliance with the law in force, has ordered the administrative investigation immediately after the tragic incidence. Entire information that will emerge from this administrative investigation will be provided step by step to the prosecution.

In order to help in the process of investigation, Ministry of Defence has convened experts of the helicopter’s company EC 145, who arrive yesterday in Albania.

Also yesterday, in the MoD and AAF arrived the US military experts specialized in this type of helicopter.

State Police in cooperation with the Military Police are preserving the area of the incident in order not to deliberately harming the evidence.

Since the moment of criminal proceedings registration there was total cooperation with the Prosecution, which has already been provided with the required documentation.

Ministry of Defence thanks the Prosecution Office regarding the work is doing from the first moment, concerning the investigation of this incident and it stands by that spirit of cooperation.
