Chief of Cabinet to the Minister of Defence

Ervis Tema has served as Chief of Cabinet to the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Albania since March 2026. In this capacity, he oversees the coordination of the Minister’s Cabinet, supports strategic decision-making processes, and ensures institutional cooperation among the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces, and national and international partners in the field of security and defence.

Ervis Tema

Chief of Cabinet to the Minister of Defence

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Tema held senior leadership and coordination roles in the defence and security sector. Most recently, he served as Director of Licensing and Security Coordinator at the Defence Industry Agency, contributing to the development of institutional security mechanisms and the implementation of licensing and control processes within the defence industry.

During his military career, he held various positions within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, including Military Assistant to the Commander of the Support Command and Military Assistant to the Chief of the General Staff. He also served as Platoon Commander and Deputy Company Commander.

Mr. Tema has participated in multinational NATO missions and structures, including KFOR in Kosovo, the NATO mission in Herat, Afghanistan, and as Security Coordinator at a NATO base in Latvia.

He graduated from the Albanian Military Academy in the field of Transport and Logistics and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana. He has also completed professional training at the Army Logistics University in the United States.

Mr. Tema is fluent in English.

He is married and has a child.
