Defence Minister Pirro Vengu welcomed France’s Delegate Minister for European Affairs, Benjamin Haddad, for a meeting focused on strengthening Albania–France relations and deepening cooperation on European and regional matters.
The two officials discussed France’s strong support for Albania’s EU membership path, the significance of the upcoming European Political Community Summit set to take place in Tirana on May 16, and the importance of President Emmanuel Macron’s upcoming state visit to Albania in that context.
Over the past few years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Macron, ties between Albania and France have grown stronger than ever — with real progress being made through the Strategic Partnership Agreement, especially in innovation, education, energy, and now, security and defence.
