The Security and Defense Innovation Center

The Security and Defense Innovation Center (SDIC) is a newly established structure in the field of Defense and Security, founded on innovation as both a core philosophy and key mechanism for progress and development. The mission of the Center is to foster innovation and all related processes by supporting, monitoring, and evaluating programs, technologies, and projects within the field of Security and Defense.

SDIC aims to enhance Security and Defense capacities through innovative projects and the integration of modern technologies; promote the innovation ecosystem, attract talent, and support startups; and cultivate a sustainable and productive environment that encourages synergy between innovative ideas and their effective implementation in the Security and Defense sector. The Center also focuses on improving internal processes and operations, optimizing resource allocation, and measuring progress; maintaining continuous engagement in research and development, providing expertise, sharing knowledge, and representing SDIC on the international stage.

The Center is actively working on projects proposed by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, focusing on the improvement and modernization of the Armed Forces and various directorates. Additionally, SDIC is engaged in projects related to civil emergencies and collaboration with other ministries, offering its expertise and available tools to address challenges that directly impact the safety and protection of the citizens of the Republic of Albania.

The SDIC team consists of 16 civilian and military staff members and operates based on a flat horizontal structure composed of the Director, support staff, and experts. These experts contribute knowledge across various fields of activity, completing the cycle of designing, managing, and developing innovative solutions in the area of Security and Defense.
