Albania's 13th Anniversary in NATO, Peleshi: We will increase our contribution for peace and freedom in the world

Today is the 13th Anniversary of Albania's membership in NATO.
Defence Minister Niko Peleshi congratulated especially the Armed Forces for this special day.
"Despite certain periods, the vocation of the Albanian people has been for centuries in the West. 13 years ago, this vocation materialized with Albania's membership in the largest political-military alliance that the world has known. Since that day, but even earlier, Albanian troops have served in almost every NATO mission. Our contribution, as a worthy ally of the Alliance, will increase day by day with our attitudes and actions for peace and freedom in the world.", - Peleshi added.

In this 13th Anniversary the Armed Forces are in a process of reform and modernization.
On April 1, 2009, Albania became a full member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization - NATO, after the ratification of the Accession Protocol by all allied countries and the deposit of the instrument of NATO accession in the State Department that is also the legal holder of the Washington Treaty.
