6 generals promoted, Peleshi: We are increasing the dignity of the Armed Forces

After the decree by the President of the Republic, at the Ministry of Defense was held the promotion ceremony for Rear Admiral Adnand Agastra, Brigadier General Editson Zarka, Brigadier General Petrit Çuni, Brigadier General Ferdinand Dimo, Brigadier General Ilir Pujo and Brigadier General Ylli Pulaj. Present at the ceremony were the Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj, Deputy Defence Minister Dallëndyshe Bici and relatives of the generals.

During his speech Minister Peleshi expressed his excitement for the completion of the promotion process with a great speed compared to past experiences. The Minister considered this a motivation process for the members of the Armed Forces, from the first soldier to the highest ranks.

"It is not the only process, the same development. We are trying to increase the dignity of the Armed Forces, which is one of the highest among all other institutions and structures in the Albanian state, valued by the public as such, but obviously needs better reward, conditions and compensations for our military and for their families.",- said the Defence Minister.

Mr. Peleshi stressed the fact that education is a priority, which is continuing in partnership with NATO and the US. "We are investing in increasing the internal capacities, also in strengthening the Academy of the Armed Forces, adding the master program, turning the Academy into an institution with a regional perspective. We have started with the regionalization or internationalization of some courses, and we are working to make them part of the Defence College. So we will have the Defence Academy, we will have the Defence College. All these are in function of qualitative growth and qualification, the improvement of dignity and making our force more capable and closer to NATO standards, as it belongs to us.", - stressed Minister Peleshi.

All six generals excel with their professionalism and responsibility wherever they have served during their careers in the Armed Forces. Rear Admiral Adnand Agastra currently serves as Chief of Operations and Training Branch in the Navy, Brigadier General Editson Zarka serves as Director of General Inspection at the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Petrit Çuni serves as National Military Representative in the Military Representation Abroad, Brigadier General Ferdinand Dimo serves as Commander in the Army Vocational Training Center at Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ilir Pujo currently holds the position of General Director in the Defense Intelligence and Security Agency at the Ministry of Defense and Brigadier General Ylli Pulaj serves as Deputy Commander of the Air Force.
