The revitalization of military bases across the territory of Albania is expected to be an outstanding potential development in the areas where they have been built. Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka inspected the locations in Shëngjin, Lezha district and Cape of Pal in Durres district, this weekend.

During the inspections, the Minister of Defense emphasized the government's objectives for the next four years with regard to the Armed Forces: "The modernization of the Armed Forces is one of the main priorities not only of the year that has just begun but over the four years. Military bases, such as the one in Shëngjin or Cape of Pal, as well as naval bases have special importance and value for the history of the Armed Forces, moreover for the development and tourism potential of the surrounding areas", said Minister Xhaçka during her visit to the Cape Pal base.

Accompanied by Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, the Minister of Defense inspected the 4th Torpedo tunnel during her visit to the FA military base in Shëngjin.
"We will soon review all opportunities for new investments, new projects, revitalization and resurrection of such bases. There is an urgent need to invest, but there is also an enormous potential to develop, to become more attractive and to positively influence in the economy", - said the Defense Minister.

At Shëngjin base, a Naval Force patrolling ship stands ready during the 12 months of the year. The Defense Minister thanked the crew of the ship and all the Armed Forces members, for their professionalism and dedication in carrying out their mission at sea, land or air.
