Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan -

Following the conclusion of the ISAF mission in Afghanistan at the end of 2014, NATO launched a new mission, Resolute Support Mission (RSM), on January 1, 2015.
The mission deployed approximately 8,000 personnel, including forces from NATO member states and 14 partner countries.

Mali -

AAF comitmment in European Union Training Mission in Mali (EUTM Mali), in the Republic of Mali, Africa begun in November 2016.
Their mission consist in supporting and contributing in different EOD services. This mission has a training role and the AAF contigent is part of the EOD (group) in support of the Base Storage Company (Storage and Supply Activity operations) at the Training Center in Koulikoro, Republic of Mali.

During the 2015-2016 period, the Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) participated in the European Union Training Mission in Mali (EUTM Mali) with 6 military personnel.
In 2017, the AAF deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training group consisting of 6 military personnel.
From 2015 until the mission's conclusion in April 2020, Albania contributed a total of 34 military personnel to EUTM Mali.


Afghanistan, ISAF Operations led by NATO -

In July 2002, the first contingent of the Armed Forces became part of the coalition forces against terrorism in ISAF operation in Kabul and continued to gradually increase the representation and diversity of the engagement in tasks, almost in all the Regional Commands in Afghanistan, such as in Herat (West), Mazar-e Sharif (North), ISAF Headquarters in Kabul, NATO Training Mission in Kabul and Herat, OMLT teams in Kabul, Special Forces in Kandahar (South) and the Special Forces Trainers in Wardak (East). In total, 3041 military personnel participated in this operation.

Georgia

AAF was engaged in the mission UNIMOG in Georgia, led by UNO from 1994 until July 2009. In July 2009, the mission was completed and AF participated with 39 military personnel.


Chad, Africa

AAF have sent three contingents consisting of 63 military members (189 in total) in the operation MINURCAT, led by the European Union in Chad, Africa, during July 2008-July 2010, serving as part of the French contingent. Sending troops in Chad was based on an agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Albania “For the participation of the Republic of Albania in EU military operations”, as well as on the bilateral agreement between the French Republic and the Republic of Albania, “To support AAF troops in EU military operations”.

The Contingent financial support has been provided by the Albanian government, but logistic support, which includes strategic troop transport in the region of operation, has been provided by the French side.
