Minister Kodheli inspects Armed Forces action for litter collection

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, closely inspected the second phase of the Armed Forces’ action for litter collection. Initially, they were stopped at the Morina’s border crossing point, where many military troops were clearing the territory. Further, they have stopped along the road from Marina to Tirana, where Armed Forces troops were engaged and followed the litter collection.
In her address, Minister Kodheli said that we should keep Albania clean and called the environmental situation across the country, as an environmental emergency. Further, Minister Kodheli said that the government has maximum commitment to keep the environment clean. In the meetings she had with some residents of the area, Minister Kodheli urged them to keep clean the environment in which they live and recommended everyone to become part of the action.
In this action, 1,000 troops and 80 vehicles of the Armed Forces (AFs) are engaged.
The main roads in which the AFs intervened during the day are: Morina Customs - Drini Bridge, Kukës, 20 km; Milot - Rubik, 12 km; Milot - Kukës, 32 km; Kamëz - Vora, 12.5 km and Kashar - Rinas Airport, 7 km. 83.5 km of national roads were cleaned and the collected wastes were transported by AFs’ vehicles to their collection sites.
