Albania 10 years in NATO, representatives from 29 NATO countries will gather in Tirana

On 1 April 2009, Albania becomes a full member NATO country. The 2019 coincides with the 10th Anniversary of our country's membership in the Alliance. During the week that precede the official membership date, under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence will be introduced high-level activities, regional and NATO Seminars and Joint Exercises.

In the 2019 almost all Regional Initiatives will be chaired by our country: U.S. - Adriatic Charter (A-5); South-East Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM); Regional Arms Control Verification and Implementation Assistance Center (RACVIAC).

The activities of 28 - 29 March are anticipated to be amongst the most important public impact events and will coincide with the launch of NATO Year, so on:

  - 10:00 - 10:45 am Panel Discussi on "Albania 10 Years in NATO - Security for the region"; it will be held at Mak - Albania Hotel;
  - 11:00 - 12:00 am it will be a Troops Alignment Parade in “Nënë Tereza” Square and “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard. More than 2500 Albanian soldiers, foreign flag-bearers; more than 100 military fighting vehicles; helicopters; The Armed Forces Wind Band together with members from the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) International Band. It will also be a flight parade of NATO Aircraft over Tirana.

More than 150 participants are expected to attend this event: Defence Ministers, ChoDs, NATO Member Countries and Commands high rank military, Ambassadors and Defence Attachés accredited in our country; MPs; flag-bearers of different countries.

The event will be open to the public.
