Albanian soldiers serving in Resolute Support International Missions in Herat and Kabul, Afghanistan, Aegean Sea, Latvia, KFOR Kosovo and Mali congratulated Albania’s 10th Anniversary of NATO Membership.
In a video communication with Albanian servicemen, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka thanked them for their valuable contribution not only to the places they serve, but also for the assessment Albania receives as a worthy member of NATO.
“It is thanks to your contribution that we are proud today. This contribution is increasingly appreciated day after day, we become a reliable partner and a truly important partner for the Alliance. You have made us proud today, and I am convinced that you will continue to make us proud each day that you continue to contribute by exporting security, not only for our country, but also in all missions and operations of the Alliance or the European Union.” , - said Minister Xhaçka, who offered the support of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff for any problems that Albanian soldiers may have during their service abroad.
“Take care of each other and may you return safe and sound in your families that miss you too much. Please share with us any concern, any worry, any problem you may have, any need for your families. We are a big family, we can do a lot to care for them as long as you are not here.” , - said Minister Xhaçka.
The Defence Minister could not congratulate all our soldiers abroad, as some of them were on the line of duty but shared the pleasure of congratulating one of the servicemen in Herat, who a few days ago became a father.
Currently 210 Albanian soldiers serve on missions abroad, while since 2009, around 5000 men and women in uniform have served in peacekeeping missions abroad.
