Minister Xhaçka visits USS Aircraft Carrier “Abraham Lincoln”

It has been days that USS Aircraft Carrier “Abraham Lincoln” is conducting naval exercises in the waters of the Adriatic Sea. 

Special guests were the President of the Republic, at the same time Commander in chief of the Albanian Armed Forces Ilir Meta, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, and representatives of General Staff of the AAF.

For Minister Xhaçka, “the visit to this aircraft carrier was not only a beautiful experience, but above all the confirmation of the excellent relations that our country has with its strategic Ally, the United States of America in terms of Defence and Security.”

Minister Xhaçka thanked the Commander of USS Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier Captain Brouwne for the hospitality, during this naval exercise in the Albanian Coast.

USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is one out of ten US aircraft carriers currently at the service of the US Navy Forces. It pertains to the Nimitz class with a carrying capacity of about 100,000 tons. This airplane carrier is today the largest and most powerful military ship in the world, as well as an indicator of US military power.
