The body of the Homeland Martyr, Corporal Zarife Hasanaj, arrives home

The lifeless body of the Homeland’s Martyr, Corporal Zarife Hasanaj, who fell while in line of duty during the NATO mission in Latvia, arrived in her native land.

The coffin with Corporal Hasanaj’s body, covered with the National Flag, was transported by military aircraft from Latvia and it was accompanied by her Albanian, Canadian and Latvian colleagues of the NATO Battalion-size group.

In the “Mother Teresa” Airport, to receive the body of Corporal Hanasaj were present the Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka, Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, MPs of the National Security Committee, foreign military attachés to our country, military colleagues from all forces, as well as family members of the Homeland’s Martyr.

After the reception ceremony with military honors at the airport, the lifeless body of Corporal Hasanaj was taken to her place of residence to continue with traditional family rites.

Homage for the homeland martyr and then the state ceremony will be held on Friday at the Palace of Congresses from 10:00 to 12:30 am.

After performing the homage and state ceremony, Corporal Hasanaj will be given the last farewell to the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Tirana, where she will eternally rest in peace.
