Major General Pedersen meets Deputy Defense Minister Petro Koçi: Appraisal for Albania's Contribution to Security in the Region

Deputy Minister of Defense Petro Koci welcomed in his office, Major General Pedersen, DCOS, Partnership Directorate at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), who is in Albania within the framework of the CIMIC’s Key Leaders’ Conference.
During this meeting Major General Pedersen expressed appreciation for the role Albania is playing in the security and peace in the region as well as for the engagement of the Albanian Armed Forces in NATO missions.
Major General Pedersen also expressed his condolences to the fatal event that occurred a few weeks ago in Latvia, where two Albanian soldiers, who were on mission there, lost their lives while in the line of duty.
On the other hand, Deputy Defense Minister Petro Koçi, during this meeting, focused on the Balkan’s events related to neighboring states such as North Macedonia and Kosovo.
“The process of North Macedonia membership in the Alliance is very good news for the entire region, for the cooperation policy and the security in the region,” said Koçi.
Also, Koçi added that he already hopes that the transformation process of the Armed Forces of Kosovo will reach NATO standards so that Kosovo becomes part of our Euro - Atlantic community.
