Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, on special invitation from the Federal Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, will attend tonight's military tattoo ceremony in Berlin to bidding farewell to the former Federal Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen, who is newly President-elect of European Commission.
The 200-year-old military tattoo, which is the highest military ceremony, and it takes place to honour individuals for their service to the Bundeswehr, will be attended by Chancellor Angela Merkel, personalities and close friends of former Federal Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen.
Only few weeks before being elected to the highest office in the European Union, Mrs. Von der Leyen, in the capacity of Federal Defence Minister, received Minister Xhaçka on an official visit in Berlin.
Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen is the first woman to be elected President of the European Commission and is expected to take office on 1 November 2019.
