AAF built a baily bridge over Fan River, Minister Xhaçka: The Civil Emergency Infrastructure Reform and Regulation

Beginning from today the 900 residents of the villages of Klos and Fan, the way to go to schools, health centers, or to connect with the rest of Albania through the Nation Road (Rruga e Kombit) is facilitated thanks to the contribution of the Armed Forces - AAF.

The Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, while inspecting the completion of the Bailey bridge works, praised the engineering experts and the AAF for their contribution to community.

“I want to thank our staff for the excellent work they have done. ‘For the community, by the community’ is the motto of our Armed Forces. In the last two years, engineering units have facilitated 60,000 residents to communicate from the South to the North of the country, thanks to 16 Bailey bridges. Through this contribution, the Armed Forces have facilitated the service provided to thousands of families, mainly in rural and remote areas, creating better opportunities for children to attend school, to go to health centers, or use agriculture in benefits to the household”,- said the Minister of Defense.

Attention given to the community, especially during civil emergencies, is one of the top priorities of the institution that Minister Xhaçka runs.

"Through the new 'Civil Protection' law, there will be better coordination of all stakeholders to help the community in the event of natural disasters or infrastructure problems. Within a few weeks, new tools and uniforms for our Search and Rescue teams, firefighters and our specialized emergency teams will arrive, as the best response to the demands needed”, stressed the Minister during the inspection.

The Bailey bridge that will serve to the residents of Fani and Klos is 24 meters long and is made possible thanks to the cooperation of the best skilled engineering experts, in the construction of such bridges, with the municipality of Mirdita.

The Defense Minister was accompanied by MP Lindita Nikolla and the Mayor of Mirdita, Ndrec Dedaj.

In the budget of 2020, 36 million ALL will be used for the modernization of the AAF.
