Minister Kodheli follows the third phase of the Armed Forces action for litter collection

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, followed the third phase the action for litter collection. During the day, they stopped at the Kapshtica customs checkpoint where numerous troops of the Armed Forces were committed to the litter collection. Later, they stopped at all the points along the road Kapshtica-Tirana to see the work of the Armed Forces personnel.

In her address, Minister Kodheli said, “Today is the third phase of a battle against litter. As you can see, same as in Morina, the view in Kapshtica is not a dignified one.”
Minister Kodheli stressed that, it is required a closer cooperation with the residents, local authorities and business to keep clean the territory. Minister Kodheli thanked all the Armed Forces personnel committed in this action and praised maximally the sacrifice and good example they are showing. “Rebuke for all those that consider the environment as a foreign thing” – added Minister Kodheli.

Present at the clearing action was also the Minister of Environment, Mr. Lefter Koka. During his address, Minister Koka thanked the Armed Forces for the enormous work they have done and urged the residents and community to be more careful and keep clean the environment in which they live.

During the Armed Forces cleaning action, 3 artillery shells of 85 mm caliber were found near Vora.

In the third phase, 1,300 troops and 86 vehicles of the Armed Forces were engaged. The action included litter collection in the roads: “Mother Tereza” Airport-Fushë-Kruja crossroad (10 km); Vora-Port of Durrës (both sides of highway, 42 km); Elbasan-Prrenjas (47 km); Pogradec-Korçë (5 km in Qafë Plloçë); Qafë Thanë-Rrajcë (9 km) and Korçë-Kapshticë (30 km). In total, 143 km of national roads were cleaned up and the collected wastes were transported from the Armed Forces vehicles to the collection sites.
