Charity associations are cooperating with state institutions to help families of retired heads of households or the ones with economic aid. The organization “Fundjavë Ndryshe” has joined the commitment of Civil Emergency to collect as many food packages. They have already begun assigning them to different municipalities.
The Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka and the leader of the organization “Fundjavë Ndryshe” Arbër Hajdari, while present at the State Reserves premises, called for more cooperation and solidarity during this time, when Albania is under strong isolation measures, due to COVID-19.
"First of all, I want to express my utmost gratitude to Arbër as well as to all these boys and girls who do an extraordinary job helping all families in need in this real war situation. Such collaborations are very valuable. It is very important that at this time we join forces to help as many families as we can, the ones identified with economic aid, those in more difficult conditions today, because of social distancing or self-isolation necessary to cope with this situation.
Moreover, to all those retirees who are in fact the most vulnerable to this virus, who absolutely must stay isolated. Therefore we, their families and children, the benefactors, we altogether need to help them with their expenses, their vital needs, so as they must not leave home in order to go through this difficult situation together.” - Minister Xhaçka stated.
The head of "Fundjavë Ndryshe" also asked for cooperation from different businesses: "I think this is a moment for us all to be together, either the state, or charities and even different businesses can help. It is a very delicate process, but very necessary. It may be even more dangerous than the earthquake, because we tried to cope with the earthquake, but this is a complete isolation of people. We ask people to isolate therefore we must serve them. Thus, coordination is required by the state for allocating aid, so that it can be distributed to people who are in need initially, to people living in tents, or to vulnerable groups, or to third-age people." - Hajdari said.
Food aid and detergent packages have been collected at the State Reserves premises. They are being distributed in the municipalities of the country, starting from those areas affected by the November 26 earthquake.
