Young Officers graduate from the Armed Forces, Xhaçka: the Academy launches its own bachelor studies

Thirty girls and boys completed the one year course of the Young Officer in the Armed Forces.

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka attended their graduation ceremony, announcing the reopening of the Armed Forces Academy to Albanian graduates for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Minister Xhaçka mentioned the investments made during the recent years in the modernization of the Armed Forces, and stressed in particular the investment in education and training of human resources. "Today, obviously, there is still a lot to be done. However, the AAF are in a completely different situation in terms of equipment, armaments or training, internal organization and professional development possibilities. Today, we have taken concrete steps towards setting up a professional Armed Force meeting the NATO standards. There has been made substantial progress thanks to the work of all committed military and professionals, to the support of the Allies and of course to the government. This is clearly shown in the performance of our units serving in NATO missions. Even though Me as Minister am happy every time we manage to put at AAF’s disposal new weapons and armament systems, starting from vehicles to helicopters, from radars to the extraordinary investment that will be made in the Kuçova Base, nothing has made me happier or made me feel that our work is making a real difference than investing in knowledge, in military education."

On the verge of graduates choosing the university they would like to pursue, Minister Xhaçka called on them to take into consideration bachelor studies at the Armed Forces Academy. "Today, the Armed Forces are turning into a real profession, offering advancement and career opportunities to every youngster and young lady who has the desire to serve the country, the ability to meet the academic challenge, but also the physical and field challenges, and the discipline, that is part of the personality of every military man and woman. Therefore, I call on all the graduates who believe that they meet these criteria, to apply for the 2020–2023 calendar. I guarantee them that they will find here ways and opportunities not only much greater than they had thought, but also many more concrete than those offered by many other branches of higher education institutions.”

The Armed Forces Academy, transformed this year into an authentic institution of higher education, providing 60 quotas to graduates for the bachelor program in the Military Sciences. The academy offers extremely favorable conditions for every graduate, from free accommodation and food during the entire study period, no tuition fees per year, monthly allowance payment for the entire period of study as well as employment after graduation.
