Bad weather, Ministry of Defense: The situation is under control, there is no danger to the citizens and their homes

Heavy rainfalls during the last two days have caused problems in different parts of the country. The Ministry of Defense announces that the situation throughout the territory is under control, whilst certain regions are being monitored with priority due to the various river inflows.

All hydrophores over the country are operating at full capacity, keeping the average levels of quota, and reservoirs are being monitored and are under control. Related to the infrastructure, normal traffic continues in all national and rural road axes. Except a few cases, the energy supply throughout the country continues normally, and the water supply is uninterrupted.

Thus, the most considerable inflows are those from the Vjosa River, but the water level is within the maximum limit and not considered as dangerous. Other rivers are also at average levels and do not pose a risk of overflow. The fire brigade and the municipality in Këlcyrë are working to clean the water in a house due to blocked pipelines.

The Civil Protection Units are located on the ground and on standby at Gjirokastra region, in the road segments of Kolonjë - Golem, in the Cepo unit, or in Lazarat, where they are trying to keep the road axes unblocked due to flood flows.

In Dropull, water cleaning vehicles are on stand as a result of the outflow of the Sopot stream. In the administrative unit of Pogon, Zagori, Dropulli, Nderan village of the municipality of Libohova, OSHEE employees are working to supply with power electricity. They are trying to repair the defects in Shkodra, where there was a disconnection.
Heavy rains have caused problems in the Selenica municipality, where the situation in the village of Mesaplik is being closely monitored, and the inflows of the Shushica river have damaged the bridge.

There are traffic difficulties on Peshkopi-Selishtë road, while forces of the traffic police have deviated the traffic on the road axis Lurë-Rrëshen, as the rural road Peshkopi-Lurë has been blocked.
