The Museum of Armed Forces has unveiled its new exhibits and surroundings

 

The Museum of Armed Forces has officially relocated to its new premises in Bërzhitë, marked by an inauguration ceremony attended by notable figures. Among the participants were Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani, Minister of Youth Bora Muzhaqi, former Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, members of the National Security Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Manushaqe Shehu, and commanders from various forces.

During the event, attendees were introduced to the museum's new spaces, organized into five pavilions. These pavilions showcase a diverse range of exhibits, including objects, historical information, maps, and photos covering military history from the era of the Illyrians to the present day.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi addressed the audience, emphasizing the museum's multifaceted role as not only a destination for visitors, school students, and foreign tourists but also as a hub for various activities. The first pavilion features approximately 110 objects highlighting significant moments in Albania's history, including the Era of Skanderbeg, Eyalets, the League of Prizren, Independence Era, and World War II.

On the second floor of the main building, the second and third pavilions exhibit around 700 objects from the era of the People's Army. The fourth pavilion, known as the NATO pavilion, showcases weapons and state-of-the-art technology used by NATO member armies. Meanwhile, the fifth pavilion, located in a separate building, houses objects related to the navy and aviation.

As part of the ceremony, artists from the Armed Forces Cultural Center performed a concert, adding a cultural dimension to the celebration.
