Certification of Guak and Mbreshtan depots, in Berat and Skrapar

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Arian Kraja participated this morning at the certification of the group of depots in Guak, Skrapar and Mbreshtan, Berat. After the cleanup process, these facilities were delivered to local government. The cleanup operation of these depots was made possible by the personnel of the Logistic Brigade, of the Berat region.
This activity was attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Viktor Berdo and representatives of CUBIC office.
12 tunnels were certified from the group of depots in Mbreshtan, which were cleaned up, for a period of two months, from 4,500 tons of munitions. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Arian Kraja thanked the personnel of Mbreshtan depots for the work done and on behalf of the Minister of Defence expressed the utmost appreciation for their work. He added that: “The objectives need still to be fulfilled and we will continue the disposal of surplus munitions throughout Albania’s territory.”
While Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Viktor Berdo said that, this is one of the most difficult operations the personnel of this region faced and thanked them on behalf of the General Staff of the Armed Forces for the hard work.
At the Guak depots were also certified 12 tunnels cleaned up from 5,000 tons of munitions. The representatives of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff also thanked the personnel that participated in this operation.
In 2014, 10 groups of depots are certified in different areas, where obsolete munitions were stored.
