Second request sent to Attorney General from Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli

Honourable Attorney General,

As Minister of Defence, I’m sending this letter through which I request your immediate response regarding the latest statements made public by the political entity “Democratic Party of Albania”.

Mr. Attorney General, as you are aware, for several days MPs of this political force have slung mud at the Armed Forces making serious charges. Through this letter, I reiterate my concern regarding these charges which are trying to make the Armed Forces “cannon fodder by the antigovernment propaganda”.

Mr. Attorney General, I request your statement if you have launched or not an investigation, based on the request of the Ministry of Defence dated 11 April 2014, regarding these accusations, and if not, I reiterate the necessity of launching an investigative process.

I take the opportunity to seek full review in details of the files that the Ministry of Defence have submitted to the investigative body. I have been and continue to remain convinced that their review will relieve the Armed Forces from the burden of a dangerous past for them, and from the risk of recurrence of their misuse in the future.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Respectfully,

The Minister

Mimi Kodheli
