Minister Kodheli met the Alternate Defence Minister of Greece

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, had today a special meeting with Mrs. Fofi Gennimata, Alternate Minister of Defence of the Republic of Greece, who is leading a delegation, in an official visit to our country.

During the meeting, Minister Kodheli informed Mrs. Gennimata, and the delegation, about the recent developments in Defence and Security, as well as about the steps taken by the Albanian Government for the fulfilment of vital reforms in Defence.

From her side, the Alternate Minister of Defence of Greece, Mrs. Gennimata thanked Minister Kodheli for the reception, and expressed the Greek Government’s will to continue to have excellent relations in the field of Defence, as two partner countries in the region and members of NATO. Minister Gennimata highlighted the fact that, Albania and Greece have been and continue to be a factor of peace and stability in our region.

Both interlocutors expressed the willingness to strengthen cooperation in various fields, as in trainings and education, especially in specific sectors of Defence.
At the end of the meetings, it was signed the Cooperation Plan Albania-Greece, in the field of Defence, for 2014.

The Alternate Minister of Defence of Greece, Mrs. Gennimata had also today a meeting with the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo.
