Minister Kodheli inspects the 2nd Infantry Battalion exercise in Zall-Dajt

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo and the Land Force Commander, Major General Zyber Dushku, inspected today the exercise conducted by the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the Land Force in the region of Zall-Dajt.
Minister Kodheli closely followed the exercise and met the participating troops thanking them for achievements of this military exercise, which once again proved best, she underlined, your preparation, readiness and confidence you have in the work you do.

You are capable, added further Mrs. Kodheli, to fulfil our constitutional and noble duty of defending the country, the territory of Albania, the safety of the citizens, our families and obviously, the security outside the country’s border. Minister Kodheli also thanked the commanding and supportive staff for the successful achievement of this training operation. “I wish and hope that other exercise like this will continue to prove that we are capable to protect our uniform and exalt our oath we made to the country, people and ourselves”, said Defence Minister Kodheli.

The aim of this exercise is to test the operational capabilities and readiness of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the Land Force, as a priority unit of the Armed Forces, assessment of the planning skills, organization and conducting of the operation under realistic conditions, as well as coordination and cooperation with other state structures in managing civil emergencies. The search and rescue exercise is characterized by high dynamics and a variety of scenarios, where 2nd Infantry Battalion troops deal with civil emergency situations caused by severe weather conditions.
Two helicopters of the Air Force, Military Police's means and troops, are also engaged in this exercise. The troops and military means, during the exercise, have carried out tasks such as, evacuation of isolated population, distribution of food aid and provision of the first medial aid.
