Minister Kodheli met the Commander of the Allied Air Command, General Frank Gorenc

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli had an official meeting with the Commander of the Allied Air Command, General Frank Gorenc, who is on a daylong visit to Tirana. During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the framework of the Alliance were discussed, as well as the commitments taken by our country.

Defence Minister Kodheli informed General Gorenc about the latest developments in Defence and Security in the country, about the work being done in the Armed Forces and the new challenges that each country of the Alliance is facing. Mrs. Kodheli focused on the important reforms being carried out in this sector, such as the legislative and structural reform. Minister Kodheli assured that Albania will continue to be a factor of stability in the region.

The Commander of the Allied Air Command, General Frank Gorenc praised Albania’s contribution to its commitments as a member of the Alliance. Both interlocutors discussed about issues of actuality, the current crises in the eastern borders of the Alliance and focused on the recent developments in Ukraine.

General Gorenc also visited today the Kuçova Air Base.
