Armed Forces commitment in camps during the touristic season

During the touristic season, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, in cooperation with the National Coast Agency (NCA), were committed as part of the Task Force in setting up camping sites, improving safety conditions at beaches and recreational areas along the whole coastline of the country.
The Armed Forces, since June 20, 2014, with 136 troops and 11 vehicles are mainly engaged in the administration and setting up camps in the beaches defined by NCA; creation of appropriate conditions in camps and beaches for the tourists; surveillance and patrol along the coastline; searching and finding lost children; management of incidents at sea, providing the first aid and transporting the injured to the health centres.
During this period, in the camps set up in Himara, Dhërmi, Borsh, Vlora, Golem, Durres, Gjiri i Lalzit, Velipoja, Tale, about 174 medical visits, 30 operations to save people’s life at sea, 42 transportation of sick people to the medical centres were made, and 49 lost children were found.
