U.S. Secretary of Defence, Mr. Chuck Hagel, thank you letter to Minister Kodheli

The Secretary of Defence of the Unites States of America, Mr. Chuck Hagel has sent a thank you letter to the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, for the help Albania has provided in support of the efforts of the coalition in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

In his message, Secretary Hagel stresses that, “Albania’s generous donation in support of the Government of Iraq and specifically the Peshmerga has been instrumental in mitigating the ongoing crisis. Your rapid response put Albania at the forefront of support to a major international effort to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. Albania’s significant contribution has been central to the effort to resupply the Peshmerga at such a critical time. Given the gravity of this conflict, I thank you for considering our NATO Summit proposal for additional donations. Counting support to the Peshmerga will be key to the continued success of the coalition”.

At the end of his letter, Secretary Hagel expressed United States willingness to continue the strategic cooperation with Albania and strengthen cooperation in Defence.
