Press Statement

The Ministry of Defence welcomes the personal commitment of Attorney General, Mr. Adriatik Llalla, regarding the denunciation made by the Ministry for the lack of explosives, created over the years, in the warehouses near the village of Nuaj, in Kruja.
After the approval of the new structure by the President of the Republic, among others, based on an order of the Minister of Defence, in October 2014, a comprehensive and detailed process of inventory began throughout the country. The Minister demanded the process to be conducted at the same time throughout the country with the presence of the members of the committee, commands, Ministry and General Staff, a process which is still under way.

In October, during the inventory process, in the group of warehouses of the Support Brigade in the village Nuaj, in Kruja, a considerable amount of explosives was missing.
The Armed Forces structures, after noticing the violations, put under surveillance Corporal Adem Hasani, the warehouseman of this group of warehouses, and contacted the Police and Prosecution of the District of Kruja, seeking his detention in the act.
Faced with the inaction of the Kruja Prosecution in front of the ascertained violations and the available information of a possible departure out of the country of this citizen, based on the law of military discipline, the Command was forced to detain Corporal Hasani at the Military Police on November 4.

Under these circumstances, the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli was obligated to contact personally the Attorney General, Mr. Adriatik Llalla, which mobilized the Prosecution of the Kruja District.
The Minister of Defence thanks Mr. Llalla for its immediate availability, and hopes that he will act in the same manner for other files submitted by this Ministry to the institution he leads.
