The ceremony of the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation Day was held on central square of garrison “Skënderbej”. The event was attended by the President of the Republic at the same time Commander-in-chief of the Albanian Armed Forces, Mr. Bujar Nishani; the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta; the Prime Minister, Edi Rama; the Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli; the Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo; MPs, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Defence Attachés, representatives of religious communities, etc.

After the greeting addressed to the attendees by the Defense Minister Mimi Kodheli, the guards of honour did perform a choreographic military demonstration. A low-flying Cougar helicopter squadron from Farka Air Base participated in this celebration ceremony.

Earlier Defence Minister Kodheli, as well as CHOD Bazo together the higher state authorities paid homages and placed wreaths at the “Nënë Shqipëri” monument situated within Martyrs’ Cemetery.
