In Tirana is being held the NATO Transformation Synchronization Conference for 2016

Today in Tirana started the NATO Transformation Synchronization Conference that is being held in Tirana International Hotel. The conference aims to discuss the latest development across the NATO Training spectrum. In this context, this year there is a significant increase in the importance of education, training and exercises, aimed at furthering the implementation of NATO Readiness Action Plan, based on the changes that are occurring on global security.
In the beginning of the proceedings of this conference, Minister of Defence Mrs. Kodheli held a meeting with the Chief of Staff of ACT (Allied Command Transformation) Air Marshal Graham Stacey.
During this meeting both dignitaries shared the same opinion regarding the role of ACT and its responsibility on adapting and transforming the Alliance as a very important and irreplaceable key element of the whole process.

By encouraging ACT for its role in the continuation of military transformation, Minister Kodheli stressed the importance of education and training for the military staff. "Education, training and exercises are areas with great interest to maintain interoperability. “Trident Juncture 2015 'was an excellent performance of the determination of the allies that left me a great impression of our troops participating in the exercise. This exercise was the best example of the determination of Albania’s contribution to the Allies security, and in this context we are proud to have definite a company in our common NATO Task Force for the period 2016-2018, "said Minister. - Kodheli.

Both dignitaries emphasized the security challenges that Alliance is facing today in its southern and eastern borders, especially the phenomenon of foreign fighters. On this occasion, Minister Kodheli introduced to Air Marshal Graham Stacey Albania's proposal in establishing a NATO Centre of Excellence for foreign fighters in our country.
The proceedings of this conference started today and close on Wednesday, March 3. In this conference are taking place around 350 representatives of Member, Partner Nations of NATO, of which 25 of them are Generals of different Commands and structures of NATO.
