Biography of the pilots declared "Martyr of the Nation” and information about homage

Martyrs’ State Commission declared "Martyr of the Nation" the two pilots of the Albanian Armed Forces, Captain Floran Delia and Lieutenant Donald Hoxha, who passed away, on April 6, 2016, as a result of the crash of the helicopter EC 145, with which they were having a training flight in Grizhë of Malësia e Madhe.

The Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania announce that the honoring homage of the two Air Force pilots, "Martyrs of the Nation", Captain Floran Delija and Lieutenant Donald Hoxha, who fall in the line of duty as a result of the helicopter EC 145 crash in Grizhë of Malësia e Madhe will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 12:00 till 14:00 o’clock at the premises of the Palace of Congresses.
The departure ceremony of the two soldiers in the final resting place will take place at 14:30 in the Martyrs Cemetery.

Lieutenant Donald Hoxha

Lieutenant Donald Hoxha was born in 17. 06. 1988 in Berat. He studied at the Italian Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy, where he successfully graduated in 2011 and was certified as a pilot. After graduation, he was appointed as a pilot in the Albanian Air Force and later in Farka Air Base where he served since 2012 with professionalism and dedication. The last duty of Lieutenant Hoxha was "pilot (SAR)" in the Helicopter Group in Farka Air Base.
Conducted several training courses at home and abroad, for the piloting of helicopters (SAR) type EC145.

Captain Floran Delia

Captain Floran Delia was born in 01.10.1973 in Dibër. He studied at the Academy of Defence "Skanderbeg" where he graduated in 1996 by getting qualified as “Aviation Officer". Since 2004 and onwards had carried out various duties in the Unit of Farka, as the first crew pilot in BO105 and crew commander of SAR. Captain Delia has carried out training courses at home and abroad. Captain Delia was married and he had 3 children.
