The operation of Armed Forces in cleaning the Albanian coast concludes successfully

Concludes successfully the operation of Armed Forces “white T – shirts” in cleaning the Albanian coast. The last 15 days more than 2 thousand troops of AAF have made possible to do the cleaning of main roads axes and southern beaches from Vlora city to Butrint.

In this operation were engaged about 210 vehicles of the AAF, which have made possible the transportation of waste to certain places assigned for that purpose. Due to the work done by the Armed Forces, in total have been removed from roads and coastline around 500 cubic meters of wastes and 160 tons of inert. During all these days of operation the Armed Force has cleaned about 220 km of coastline.

At the end of their work, the troops of this operation were visited by the Deputy Defence Minister, Mr. Petro Koçi. Deputy Minister, Koçi thanked the troops for their work and dedication shown during all these days, by serving the community and tourists across the whole coastline. The Deputy Minister Koci said that the operation of “white T - shirts" was a cultural investment in order to show that the common environment should be preserved and respected.

“This operation is a cultural investment that changes the relationship of society with environment and with cleanliness. This is a very important element, especially in order to have a successful tourism, a clean country, and in order to have a more attractive coastline.“

At the end of his speech, Deputy Defence Minister Koçi appealed the local government to continue this cooperation and to establish an active permanent structure responsible for clearing the road axes and coastline.
