Promotion ceremony of Brigadier General Tonin Marku

The ceremony of promotion of Col. Tonin Marku to Brigadier General was held at the premises of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces Brig. Gen. Dedë Prenga and senior officials of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff attended the ceremony.

During her speech Minister Kodheli called the ceremony “as solemn as an important one, because it writes a brilliant page of our activity and our constitutional commitment in terms of what we do every day”. At the end of her speech, Mrs. Kodheli wished further success to Brigadier General Tonin Marku.

Brig. Gen. Tonin Marku called the promotion ceremony a special moment in his military career. "Since at its beginnings every serviceman who joins the AAF is oriented to getting disciplined, educated, prepared to perfection to serve and fulfill the constitutional mission, as we servicemen do, but with a clear goal, to achieve the maximum in our career," - said Brig. Gen. Marku. He concluded his speech by thanking everyone for their help and cooperation.

Brig. Gen. Tonin Marku is part of the Albanian Armed Forces for nearly 31 years and currently serves as Commander of Joint Operations Center.
