Defence Minister Mrs. Kodheli met the 2nd Navy contingent, who has just returned from their mission in the Aegean Sea, at the Navy Command in Durrës. During this meeting, Defense Minister Mrs. Kodheli was accompanied by Navy Commander Maj. Gen. Ylber Dogjani and other senior officers and commanders of the Navy.

In her address Mrs. Minister congratulated the contingent on the successful fulfillment of the mission and stated that she was very proud of everything they have done and continue to do.
Further, Mrs. Kodheli considered this mission for the contingent members, a great experience and a kind of school as well. "I am convinced that the representation of our patrol ship and your representation as equal among equals with other Northern Alliance forces, honors all of us, further raises the moral, dignity and increases the assessment that the government, and citizens have for the Albanian Armed Forces, who I continuously consider as the best part of the Albanian society ", - stressed Minister Kodheli, who again thanked and wished successes to the 2nd Contingent of the Navy who fulfilled their mission. "I greatly hope that the 3rd Contingent, who are already situated in the Aegean Sea, will continue in the path of success that you and your predecessors had in this unique mission, that is exactly the NATO mission in the Aegean Sea", - concluded Mrs. Kodheli.

During the meeting, the Commander of the 2nd Contingent, the LCDR Rank Captain Silvan Boni, gave an overview of the mission carried out by the ship "Oriku" in the Aegean Sea, where the primary task was to prevent illegal activity and crossing of illegal migrants from the coast area of the Republic of Turkey towards the European Union countries.

The LCDR Boni also mentioned concrete cases which the crew, he commanded, faced during this mission, which, as he said, was successfully carried out, enabling the prevention of illegal clandestine crossing.

The 2nd Navy Contingent, composed of a group of 21 military, served for about two months in the NATO mission in the Aegean Sea. Currently Albania has sent the 3rd Contingent in the Aegean Sea mission, who started this mission about a week ago.
