Minister Xhaçka receives the Chief of Defense Staff of the United Kingdom

Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka received today in an official meeting the Chief of Defense Staff of the United Kingdom, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart William Peach and the accompanying delegation.

Mrs. Xhaçka expressed her welcome to Air Chf Mshl Peach, who in turn congratulated the Minister for the new assignment.

Minister Xhaçka thanked Air Chf Mshl Peach for the support and cooperation that his country has given to the Albanian Armed Forces, especially pertaining to joint exercises in our country, starting with "Albanian Lion", "Joint Effort", up to the most recent exercise currently underway, "Ex Soldier Eagle 17".

Part of the conversation was also the support of the United Kingdom for our Armed Forces in the field of education and the possibility of increasing this cooperation.
Minister Xhaçka expressed the determination of the Albanian government and our Armed Forces towards the commitment of the Alliance in increasing prevention capacities as well as the defense of NATO borders.

Earlier Air Chf Mshl Sir Stuart William Peach was received with guard of honour by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku.

The visit of United Kingdom Chief of Defense Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart William Peach to our country takes place in the framework of the joint training "Ex Soldier Eagle 17" of the Albanian Armed Forces and the British Army, and the Military Committee Conference, in Chiefs of Defence (CHoDs) Session of NATO Member Countries, which will take place in Tirana from 15 - 17 September 2017.
