Minister Xhaçka: Not just bridges and roads. AAF contributes to schools in remote villages

Not just bridges and extended roads, but also contribution and support to the community through the different materials for schools of remote areas. This was the mission of the Armed Forces when they arrived in the village of Arrëz, Devoll Municipality. A few days ago, the bridges platoon of the Engineering Battalion of the Support Command finished the bridge that connects the two neighborhoods of the village with 635 residents and facilitates their communication with 900 residents of neighboring villages.

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka herself saw the bridge that, among other things, makes the transition of 65 children to the secondary school and back more secure. ” I am proud of our engineering troops who have contributed to the extension of roads or the construction of bridges, like today’s case in Arrëz. With the construction of the bridge in this village, we are giving the opportunity to people not only to communicate with neighboring villages, but to make the area more accessible for Albanian and foreign tourists", - said the Minister.

This weekend Arrëza celebrated the 90th anniversary of the first Albanian school. On this occasion, with the contribution of the Armed Forces heating stoves were installed and computers were brought in the classes.

"With great love and dedication the Armed Forces offer to these children the opportunity to stay warm during the difficult winter months or to be informed and learn by using up-to-date methods. It is a very small, but a heartfelt and significant contribution that every one of us has made, especially when it comes to children who are the future of the country. We have promised to have the Armed Forces ever closer to the community, and this is an indication of this will", - said Minister Xhaçka.

Minister of Defense announced the good news for the residents of Arrëz in the event for the 90th anniversary of the school, that the road that connects their village with Dardha will be extended.
"You probably know that I am a granddaughter from Devolli and I always come here with great desire. As Defense Minister, I am committed that together with the Engineering Forces to work on the extension and improvement of the condition of the road that connects your village with Dardha, just a few kilometers away from you. Through their mission from the north to the south of the country, the Engineering Troops and any other structure of the Armed Forces are making their contribution that every village, however remote, becomes accessible so that the inhabitants do not abandon their lands and homes because of a bridge or a road. I assure you that the Armed Forces will always be where people do not have the opportunity or the conditions, to help the community or, to increase the safety of life for every citizen of Albania ", - said Minister during the meeting with the village residents.

In Arrëz, the Minister of Defense was accompanied by the Director of Civil Emergencies, Shemsi Premçi, Prefect of Korça, Pandi Papapando and MP Edlira Bode.
