The Ministry of Defense starts identifying properties that are not currently military deployment locations. Minister Olta Xhaçka during a visit to Farka Air Base, where she met the leaders of the Albanian Air Force, suggested that the work for the inspection of former properties administered by the Armed Forces has started.
"The Ministry of Defense has begun a thorough control on all former properties under its administration. Each command and unit is charged with all available human resources to correctly identify the current status of those properties that are currently not military deployment locations. This inspection is being conducted once again in compliance with the Council of Ministers Decision No. 248 of 29 March 2017 in order to the possibility of illegal activities in these properties. This inspection takes place during this week and through an exact plan will include any former military property wherever it is. The government's attention is at the highest level and any illegal activity will get the legal answer ", - stated the Minister.
Through the normative act, adopted a few weeks ago, the government gave its support to the Armed Forces. There are four million new Lek, which, according to Minister Xhaçka, will be used for the modernization of the Armed Forces.
"We will significantly improve every unit to serve the citizens of this country. As a government of citizens we must maximize the attention and control to any phenomenon or situation. Through this budget increase we have provided the necessary funds for the purchase of the air radar system, the first investment to guard the Albanian skies in democracy. Together with the Minister of Interior, my colleague Fatmir Xhafa, we have set up a joint inspection team to inspect the current situation with the observation of the maritime area in detail. We will draw the necessary conclusions and find out the responsibilities, "said Minister Xhaçka, among other things.
Farka Air Base carries the main responsibility of search and rescue operations and emergency situations in our country. During her visit on this Base, Minister Xhaçka attended a working day of the teams of the pilots and technicians, getting acquainted with the problems, but also challenges for the future, where the main objective is contributing with capacities for community assistance and NATO operations.
