The Albanian Naval Force troops on mission in the Aegean Sea save the lives of 100 Syrian migrants

Thanks to the professionalism of "Oriku" crew, on mission in the Aegean Sea, 100 Syrian citizens were rescued, including 39 children and 16 women.
According to information from the Naval Force Command, Syrian citizens, were sailing from the Turkish coast towords the island of Chios in Greece. The immigrants were spotted by “Oriku” crew, which one according to the procedure alerted the mission commanding ship, as well as the Turkish and Greek Coast Guard.
There were two different operations yesterday and today by the Albanian vessel "Oriku", which enabled the rescue of Syrian citizens who tried to move to Greece.
There are over 800 human lives saved from our vessel since the launch of the mission a year ago. Thanks to successes achieved in its mission, the participation of our Naval Force in NATO's Aegean operation will be extended another year.
The Albanian Naval Force vessel is engaged in the NATO operation in the Aegean Sea to prevent the influx of illegal migrants attempting to enter European Union countries.
"Oriku" vessel will soon be replaced by another vessel of the Naval Force, "Butrinti", which is currently equipped with a modern armament system.
