The Albanian Armed Forces celebrate the 105th Anniversary of constitution

The Albanian Armed Forces chose to celebrate the 105th Anniversary of their constitution in the midst of community at the Mother Teresa Square in Tirana.

In this event, where any force or structure, part of the AAF had exposed its means and equipment, apart from the many citizens, were also present the President of the Republic Ilir Meta, the Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koci, Chief of General Staff Brigadier General Bardhyl Collollaku, Ambassadors of Allied Countries, Accredited Military Attaches in our Country, Former Military as well as many other guests.

In her speech, Minister Xhaçka conveyed on behalf of the Albanian government the most sincere congratulations for the men and women under uniform, appreciating their commitment and sacrifice since the constitution of the Armed Forces 105 years ago, the participation in the National Antifascist War Liberation, the international peacekeeping missions in the framework of NATO membership, to the engagement during civil emergencies, where the role of Albanian Armed Forces is essential.

“On behalf of the Albanian Government and in the capacity of the Defense Minister, I am honored to convey the most sincere congratulations to the men and women of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania on the occasion of the 105th Anniversary of Constitution. Along with the birthday of the Albanian state, starting from December 4, 1912, our country has had as an identifying part of it, the Armed Forces. The Albanian Army was created at the time of independence, gained physiognomy at the time when Albania was a kingdom, as it consolidated itself as an army of all people in the fire of the National-Liberation War against the Nazi-Fascist Invaders. After the war, and until now, it has already created its experience as an all armed service branches, like infantry, motorized forces, Land, Air, Naval, Commando Troops, Intelligence community, Civil defense, specialized to the highest standards of time. This has not happened in just one day, but has been chiseled as a contribution of many generations over the years. Nowadays, the Albanian Armed Forces are strongly committed to their local, regional and global reach in support of security and peace. As part of the NATO structures, our forces contribute to fight terrorism and to the establishment of peace on all fronts of the globe when it is required on land, air and sea. In times of war and peace, despite the zigzags of the politics, you have shown courage, honor, and maximal commitment to your duty. Today, our Armed Forces continue day and night to be found among the thousands of Albanian families who are experiencing the floods of these days and their consequences, wherever this is required, in the village and in the city." - said Minister Xhaçka.

The President of the Republic Mr. Meta expressed his considerations for the Albanian military during the 105 years and considered the role of the Albanian Armed Forces during the recent floods as irreplaceable.

“Our Armed Forces showed once again, during the recent flood situation in the country, that their role in serving the communities and citizens, while guaranteeing their lives and private and public property, is not only irreplaceable but that requires respect, consideration, special gratitude and increased care.”- said President Meta, who did also mention the Albanian military personnel participating in missions abroad. "A special gratitude goes to our military, who are currently contributing alongside allied countries, to the international missions in Afghanistan, the Aegean Sea, Latvia, Mali, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and everywhere else."

Later on, the participants in the activity watched the means, equipment, armaments as well as met the military personnel who have participated in the international missions in Afghanistan, Latvia, the Aegean Sea, etc.
