Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi at the Security Commission

Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku participated at hearing session held at the Security Commission.

During the hearing session, Deputy Defense Minister Petro Koçi presented a detailed material regarding the Emergency Situation that was caused throughout the country by the dense rainfalls.

Mr. Koçi started his speech thanking the Armed Forces for the contribution given during the situation and noted the success with which they faced this emergency situation with no losses in people.

Further on, Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi made a summary of the operations that were carried out in the country and also suggested that the return to normality of the areas affected by the disaster will still take time and it remains the task of the Armed Forces.

The Deputy Minister of Defense paid special attention to the activation of the Regional Support Battalion and the Engineering Forces regarding the stabilization of the situation. Their activation in construction and reinforcement of the bridges, collectors, management and distribution of aid, removal of dwellings etc., are some of the tasks that the Regional Support Battalion effectives and the engineering forces have successfully coped with and this will make possible the quick rehabilitation of the situation.

At the end of his speech, Mr. Koçi thanked all the Allied and Partner Countries, but also the individuals who contributed with aids for all the inhabitants affected by the floods.
