Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu is appointed Deputy Chief of General Staff, becoming the first woman to serve in that high rank in the Albanian Armed Forces. Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Shehu previously served as Commander of the Doctrine and Training Command and replaces Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, who is appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Land Force.
The vacancy position of the Brigadier General Shehu at the head of the Doctrine and Training Command is occupied by the Brigadier General Bajram Begaj, who is the first Albanian military doctor to hold the rank of Brigadier General. Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka in the presentation ceremony of the new leaders praised the contribution and experience of the three senior military men and expressed the conviction that the three generals will best meet the expectations of the new assignments.
