At the premises of the Special Forces Battalion (bFS), was held today the 6th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony of Captain Feti Vogli, who lost his life six years ago in Afghanistan.
The Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka further in her speech said that the work of the Martyrs is not forgotten, but it will be remembered and will be respected generation after generation and will be evaluated in the future for achieving the objectives.
"From Afghanistan to Iraq, from Chad to Bosnia, from Kosovo to Mali, from the Adriatic to the Aegean Sea, and wherever we are asked, the example of Feti Vogli teaches us that our duty and commitment to security and peace makes our military take on the risk of daily challenges, especially missions. The fall on duty of Captain Feti Vogli is a proof to the fact that you have chosen a difficult profession; and the courage, dedication, self-sacrifice and above all, your professionalism are the features that permeate your integrity as the noble sons of the nation, as faithful servants of the homeland. That is why the example of Captain Feti Vogli and Albanian military in missions inspires new generations today and always", - stated the Minister.
According to Minister Xhaçka, the presence of Albania in the NATO Alliance and our dedication, as evidenced by Feti Vogli's example, are part of the indispensable values that societies of our partner countries believe, protect and promote.
"We, as Albanians on both side of the border, do not forget for a moment that NATO is the most reliable shield in front of any aggression and barbarism that appears near and far from our geographical location. Captain Feti Vogli's sublime action tells us that forces that threaten our values, principles and our way of living in a democratic system and in a free and human rights society are still there, challenging our collective security environment every day" - said the Minister of Defence during the ceremony where family members and colleagues of the Martyr of Nation were present.
Captain Feti Vogli was killed six years ago in Afghanistan, where he were served as part of the ''Eagle 4'' peacekeeping contingent of the Special Forces Battalion. He is the first member of the Armed Forces to lose his life on a mission abroad.
